David A. Bobor, age 57, Retired Lieutenant with the Pleasantview Fire Protection District, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 30, 2016. During his 37 years of dedicated public service, he was involved in search and rescue after the deadly Plainfield tornado as well as serving a two-week deployment in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. After his retirement, he remained an active member of Pleasantview’s Air Rehab Unit. David was devoted to both family and friends; a man you could always count on. Beloved husband of Mary for 34 years; devoted father of Justin (Danielle) and Kevin (Samantha Dudzinski); loving son of Ann Marie and the late Frank Bobor; loving son-in-law of Irma Allen and the late Michael Swierk; dear nephew of Fran Babick; and loving uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.

Words from Chief Buckley:

It is with the greatest sadness that I need to inform you of the passing of Dave Bobor.

Earlier this morning, Dave died suddenly while on a fishing trip with some friends.

I don’t think I could accurately describe how much Dave has meant to me or the Pleasantview Fire District. For over 36 years Dave was a fixture of our organization; starting as a POC, retiring as a Lieutenant and continuing to serve as the head of our Rehab unit.
